I love loose leaf teas, but found it hard to use them when I was running off to work in the morning with my travel mug. This mug changes that, and extends the life of my teas. It starts out strong in the morning, and as the day goes on I can enjoy the same tea leaves 3 or 4 times, maybe even more! It just gets weaker, so if you wanted to add a couple new leaves each time, it would be great. I was surprised the tea doesn’t taste too bitter, sitting in the water for so long, but they recommend to use about 1/2 to 3/4 the amount of tea you would normally use, which helps.
There are a couple of flaws, though. Sometimes the tea leaves get stuck on the mesh strainer, and prevent tea from escaping. The slender shape looks nice, but it is almost too thin to use car cup holders effectively. and finally, it is kind of weird that where you drink from is exposed to everything even when the top is screwed on – I drop my mug on the floor in the car, and then when I go to drink from it wonder what kind of things might have touched it..
Aside from that, though, I am very happy with this mug. I am so glad someone realized the need for this product and created it. Now I just want the 2.0 version, where the flaws are considered and rectified…
